14.04.2023 Language and mutations


Our vacations are over, two days of work are done, and it's time for a new devlog.

As mentioned before, we only had two working days this week, Which also makes the progress to be shown quite easy to show.

Dustblue continued to work on the concepts of our mutants. More specifically, human variants. What do they look like, how big would they be, how to improve the design in general, etc.

Meanwhile, I have been working on a language for our cultists and aliens. There is already an alphabet and simple grammar. In fact, the first translations could be made with it. However, this variant was still too impersonal to our parasite, therefore I will rework the sentence structure and other basics again. While still being understandable, the language should sound and feel uncanny and artificial. Similar to simple computer languages. With short requests, commands, and statements. Subordinate clauses, therefore, are out of the question. Things like tenses, declension, etc. will then be clarified with suffixes. As soon as I'm done with that unless other things take priority, I'll get to work on the font. After all, the best comes last.

Vik finished our card decks and wrote some artwork descriptions. The next step is to playtest 

the system. The preparations are in progress and a group of players is already waiting. 

Unfortunately, we will not have much time next week. So I can't say how much we can show you then. But of course, we will keep you up to date.
